What We Believe
"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us."
- A.W. Tozer
Core Beliefs
Approaches have changed over centuries of time, but what we believe is tried and true. The foundational beliefs that are biblically found are the basis of everything we do here at I Am. We want to be a place of vulnerability in El Paso for a city in need of Jesus' Love.
bible
We Believe that all scripture is breathed and inspired by God. We believe God's word isn't just suggestive, but a guide on how to live a righteous life filled with encouragement, love, and the not-so-always-wanted correction.
Jesus
We believe that God the Father sent His only son, being Jesus, to show his love for His creation. Christ took the form of a human and giving His life so that we would be spared the consequence of death and separation from Him. We believe that salvation can only be found through Jesus sacrifice.
Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God's gift to us that guides us and leads us to conviction. The Holy Spirit gives us spiritual gifts to edify the Father and Son.
MAN
Man
We believe that all mankind is created in the image of God.
sin
We believe that all creation is fractured from God because of sin. We believe that mankind is born into sin and that the only way to repair the divide of sin is through Jesus Christ.
salvation
salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
The Church
We believe that church has changed in many ways from that of the book of Acts, but it is still the body of Christ empowered by the Holy Spirit to be a witness of Jesus Christ. We are to shine His light in a world of darkness.
Resurection
We believe that Jesus Christ is returning to the world in the future to judge the living and the dead. Those that choose to live for Him and are saved will join Him in Heaven.
